60. On Thursday the third day of Tishrei (13 September 1923) passed away the elderly Rabbi mh"r ZEV-VOLF the son of rabbi r' MOSHE RAZOVSKY. He rests by an empty place to the south side by mh"r AHARON who passed away on the twenty-second day of Iyar 5682 (20 May 1922) and to the town side by r' A' LIPMAN who passed away on the tweny-third day of the aforementioned Markheshvan (2 November 1923) row A A south side.

 

61. On Thursday the third day of Tishrei (13 September 1923) passed away the woman BASHEH the daughter of mh"r AVRAHAM-YISRAEL the wife of r' ABA REINGOLD from Terushkeh. She rests by the woman RAKHEL who passed away on Friday the twelth day of the aforementioned Elul row "thirty" b"k town side.

 

 

1 LEKHEVITCHER = may also mean that he has (or his forefathers have) originaly come from a place called Lekhevitch. (See entry no. 8). It is also possible that because of that has been nicknamed so.

2 2-3 February - A clear mistake. Shabbat is the twenty-seventh of Shvat. So Sunday would be the twenty-eighth, 3 February.

4 BILEVICHER - There is a town by the name of "Bilevitch". See note 2.

5 ELIYAHU - Not clear. It may also be read as SHALOM. The year regarding Shavuote is missing. This can be solved as we procede backwards.It should also be stated that there is a mistake, the first day of Shavoute can not fall on a Thursday.

6 Karnim - Not clear yet. Name? Profession? (See entry no. 36).

7 2-3 February - See footnote 2.

8 LASER - There is a town by the name of "Laseh". See note 2.

9 It has been written twice in the manuscript.

10 KHAYAT - It also might be his profession (=tailor) and not a name. See "black smith" entry no. 5, "advocate" entry no. 15, and "miller" entry no. 38.

 

11 5774/7 - Not clear. This can be solved as we procede backwards.

12 PADLIPTSER - It might also be a place by the name of Padlipts. (Haven't found yet). See note 2.

13 the aforementioned twenty-third (31 December). - It is not stated twenty-third of what month. I presume it is Tevet. This can be solved as we proceed backwards.

 

14 miller - It also may be a name - MILNER.

 

15 migrants - See note 95.

16 "tailor" - It might be an additional name KHAYAT.

17 MULER - It might also refer to a profession, a painter (pictures).

18 "moreh-tzedek" - a rabbi who decides on the Jewish laws, sort of a judge.

19 "shokhet-ubodek" - a rabbi who is in charge of slaughtering animals according to Jewish laws.

20 z"z - I have no idea what it stands for.

21 I tried to stick as much as possible to the Hebrew text, although the Hebrew style here is a bit awkward.
