"shamesh" - see prevoius material note 171.

the "Mishnayot" "beit-hamidrash" - a "beit-hamidrash" means a place where people study "tora". However it also serves as a "shul" for praying. It happens to be that there were several "beit-hamidrash" s and not only one in Slutsk. Each one was given a name for identification. See for example text no. 19 (Karnim), 36 ("black-smiths"), 75 (Migodeh, perhaps should be Vigodeh like at 467), 365 (main), 467 (Vigodeh). "mishnayot" is a certain part of the "tora", the oral law in which the "talmud" is based on. Therefore, the "mishnayot" "beit-hamidrash", refers to a "beit-hamidrash" by this name, named after the "misnayot", or at one point this place was dedicated for the "mishnayot" learning.

kl"z - see previous material note 106.

BARON - see text no. 471 BARHAN. It might actually be the same name. The Hebrew of 442 is ... and of 471 is ... , and it is possible the ... was added or skiped.

Pradavits - also might be read as Prarsavits. (Not clear if ... or ...).

GITEH - also might be read as GUTEH.

z"z - see previous material note 443.

TREGER - see previous entry 399.

BARHAN - see previous note 442.

PERELFLASHIK - might also be: PERELFLATSIK

MINSKER - also might mean that he [originally] came from Minsk.

"menaker" - also might be his profession, some one who assists the ritual slaughterer, and takes out the thigh muscle which is forbidden to eat.

ITUKA - might also be: ITELKA (not clear if ... or ... . The original manuscript has to be checked).

May death be consumed for ever - appeared several times in the past, and it's about time to relate to it. This expression is actually a verse that is usually used in the end of a mourning speach. It is used here by a begining of a new row in the cemetery, a wishful saying that hopefully there should be no more deaths and no more new rows.

MEDVETSITS - might also be: Medvedits (not clear if ... or ...).

was killed... POLANY - the Hebrew here is ... . Appeared also previously entry 467. Sorry, I don't know what this stands for. It is not used in today's Hebrew. I'm sure this will have an effect on understanding "POLANY", a part of a name? Served in the Polish army?

BIENOV - might also be: BIEYENOV

"badkhen" - might also be his profession, someone who makes jokes, usually one who chears the bride and bridegroom, which is a great deed.

VIGADSKY, RAZAVER - as previously stated because of the lack of vowels in Hebrew, might also be: VIGODSKY, RAZOVER, ROZOVER.

lare army - not clear which army. The Hebrew is ... .

.... was in town ... - Sorry, but the Hebrew is not clear at all. There is a mistake for sure.

Blessed is the one who benefectors the guilty - part of the Benediction of Deliverance (on escaping from danger). "The guilty" refers to the Jews of Slutsk that were saved although they felt they were guilty and did not deserve the miricale.

Balinsta - I suspect this is not a name of a town but rather some kind of institute.

RAZAVER - see not 501.
